About Us

HI! My name is Karynn (the Ka in shihsh-ka-bobs)
I guess you could say we got started with this breed pretty
much like everyone else. You either saw an ad in the paper
or rescued one from the shelter, etc.
Bob (the Bob in shihsh-ka-bobs) and his daughter Morgan and I
adopted one from a woman going into a nursing home “Sugar”. We took
her home with the agreement to bring her to the nursing home for
visitations.
Sugars first mom has since passed away and Sugar lives with Bob and his
family. She is 16 and still as cute and sweet as the first time she stepped
into my grooming shop.
My brother and his family also adopted one from the humane society and
she was as wide as she was long with short little stubby legs and curly tail.
“Chrissy” grunted much like a pig and got nick named the pig dog. She
passed away a couple of years ago and we all miss her a lot.
My little sister and her family just took in a rescue I brought home named
Trixie. Trixie at 7 years old came from a broken home. Once the kids were
off to college, Mom and Dad split, the dog was left behind. Trixie spends
her days running back and forth from my sisters to my parents (all on the
same property) She loves to watch TV with the old folks and play time with
the kids and cats.
We have had many shih tzus in our lives since and many more to come.
Our first show shih tzus were not much to show but we enjoyed it anyway.
We just finished our 6th champion and have 3 more in the works. In Sept
08 I finished my first bred by dog and got my first Medallion from the AKC.
This was a goal for me that was awesome to achieve.
All our dogs are tested for eyes ( CERF ) and RD ( Renal Dysplasia ).
This has been a great experience and we have met a lot of nice people
along the way. Thank you to all who has helped us.
