The following is a step by step guide to the Pet Shih Tzu " Ke Ai" Puppy cut ( this is a very nice and practical cut for the pet at home NOT for showing of course )
Step 1
Clean corners of eyes with a #10 or #15 blade. Use the blade away from the eye. Some dogs are not used to the clippers on their face, you may have to use thinning shears in place of the clippers. Run the thinning shears up in between the eyes to clean out the corners and keep the hair from irritating the eye.
Step 2
Clean hair around the ear canal with a #10 or #15 blade, again your dog may not be used to clippers so you may use blunt scissors or thinning shears
Step 3 : Shave around the anus to keep clean.
Step 4 : Clip hair around penis to keep clean.
Step 5 : I usually do a rough clip before bathing. You can use any length blade you want. I am using a #2 snap on comb to give this dog a puppy appearance. Other blades to use would be #4, #5, or #7 This will make the coat shorter. The higher the # blade the shorter the cut.
